Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper firstly reports a revised version of j-pinyin, which is a Chinese syllabary not in roman characters but in Japanese Katakana to transcribe Chinese proper nouns, e.g., the names of places and persons properly, which we have already proposed. We also describe a Chinese proper noun database with facilities to search for Chinese proper nouns by j-pinyin as well as by simplified Chinese characters and previous pinyin. This database contains 628 Chinese names of places and persons in China, which were extracted from a book on traveling China for Japanese travelers. Searching facilities was written in BASIC.NET (Microsoft). With respect to it, Chinese character input methods are also proposed, so that non-Chinese learner can input Chinese names of places and persons easily and casually.
