Abstract(in English) | A character information in an image is valuable. However, if a character is isolated as in the face of a clock, it is not easy to extract the character region. We propose a method to identify an isolated character by extracting feature points of characters. We use corners and curves as the feature points. Using edge direction of each point of an image, these feature points are extracted, and the position of a character is determined. The effectiveness of the proposed method is shown by by experiments. |
