Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In the facial regions, eyes and nose and mouth are placed in one's place. In some region, if there is the contradiction in the topological structure, we do not recognize the region with facial region, even if eyes and nose and mouth exist in the region. We extracted facial regions based on topological structure of facial parts. We calculated variance image of the object image, and made binary image using the threshold, and removed the noise of binary image using "Opening" and "Closing". The candidate regions are decided from binary image. The facial region is chosen from the combination of the candidate regions.
