Abstract(in English) | Wireless video streaming will be one of popular applications in both home and mobile network. There are some error and/or rate control methods in PHY/MAC layer to improve lossy transmission over wireless network due to such as phasing and interference. But its effect is limited and affects end-to-end congestion control and makes its congestion status worse. This paper shows the wireless QoS control scheme using cross-layer manner, called WiQ-X, which analyzes wireless PHY/MAC status and utilizes the analyzed result for congestion control between a sender and a receiver. WiQ-X was tested on Wireless LAN (802.11a) environment, and the result shows that WiQ-X gives more stable video streaming even in phasing situation than previous wireless-aware congestion control method. |
