Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This report deals with the packetization interval of haptic media in distributed virtual environments. In previous work, we packetized haptic media on capturing them. However, this produces heavy overhead since haptic media are generated at a high rate. To reduce the overhead, we propose a scheme which lengthens the packetization interval of haptic media. We investigate the effect of the packetization interval on the media output quality by experiment. In addition, we examine the influence of the network load and packet loss in the proposed scheme.
