Abstract(in English) | This report introduces a distributed haptic museum and collaborative work which we have been studying as applications of distributed virtual environments in which haptic media are used. In the distributed haptic museum, while users are touching exhibited objects by using haptic interface devices, they can automatically watch/listen to explanations of portions which they are touching. In collaborative work, multiple users manipulate an object collaboratively. The report also explains Quality of Service (QoS) control such as traffic control, media synchronization control, causality control, adaptive display control, and adaptive guidance control, which are used in order to achieve high quality of audio, visual, and haptic communications. |
