Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Network mobility (NEMO) is concerned with the mobility management of an entire network (called mobile network) which changes its point of attachment to the Internet while maintaining the ongoing communication sessions of the nodes of the network. IETF has prepared an Internet-draft, NEMO basic support protocol, explaining the ways a mobile network can be managed based on IPv6 protocol. In this report, we investigate how NEMO basic support protocol reduces the signaling overhead at the cost of increasing user data delivery overheads due to unnecessarily longer path traversal and multi-level packet encapsulation. We discuss the characteristics of mobile network, which give advantage to NEMO support protocol over other protocols such as Mobile IPv6. |
