Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this report, a watermarking method without reference images for coded Images is proposed, on the assumption of embedding digital watermark in the transform coefficients that are rounded to integers. Conventional methods need to specify the position of the transform coefficients for embedding the watermark. And information of the position is needed to extract the watermark, in conventional decoders. On the other hand, the proposed method does not need specifying the position, therefore the information of the position is not needed to extract the watermark. From this feature, the proposed method has a large degree of freedom to select positions for embedding. That is, the method can choose a convenient position suitably for every image coding system or picture and embed the watermark. From this, the method attains the improvement of image degradation, compression efficiency, etc. than the conventional methods. Simulation results show the usefulness of the proposed method.
