Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) With the advances in broadband IP technology, interactive multimodal services using audio and video communication have become popular as promising rich multimedia applications. Unlike conventional telephone service, interactive multi-modal services are expected as rich communication means. In order to offer service with a high degree of user satisfaction, it is important to give guidelines for quality design and management by measuring the abundance of service. In this paper, we clarified by factor analysis that the two psychological factors in audiovisual communication are an aesthetic feeling and a feeling of activity. The relationship between these psychological factors and quality impairment factors was also clarified. We also clarified by a multiple linear regression analysis that overall audiovisual quality can be estimated based on these two psychological factors. Finally, since we clarified that psychological factors can be formulated by quality impairment factors, overall audiovisual quality can be estimated by quality impairment factors.
