Abstract(in English) | In this report, we suppose that users manupulate objects collaboratively in a 3-D virtual space by using force feedback devices in distributed virtual environments. For haptic media synchronization, we propose a media synchronization scheme with dead-reckoning, which predicts the positions of the objects, by enhancing the virtual-time rendering (VTR) algorithm, which the authors previously proposed. The proposed scheme carries out traffic control of haptic media in order to adjust the amount of traffic dynamically according to the network load. By experiment, we evaluate the output quality of haptic media and demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme. |
