Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recent improvements in microprocessor, mobile, and radio technologies have led to an increasing interest in ubiquitous services, and these services have been expected to guarantee some service level. This paper discusses quality evaluation and design issues for information delivery services, especially telematics service, in ubiquitous environment. Response time, which is defined by delay between a request for information and the end of download, is proposed as one of performance measures. Then, a quality evaluation algorithm and a network design method using probability distribution of response time are proposed.
