Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, it has been shown that maximum likelihood estimation is used for the process of multi-modal integration [1][2]. In this research, we investigated the process of multi-modal (especially vision and haptics) integration for an object that was dynamically deforming. As a result, it was suggested that even in the case that the perceived object was dynamically changing, humans were able to integrate information of different modalities in an efficient way. In addition, it was observed that if visual and haptic information were different, there was a bias toward visual information (visual capture), and this bias was reduced when humans deformed the object by themselves.
