Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Many personal identification systems including industrial products that, utilize face recognition are reported. Since practicality is important to accomplish widespread uses of face identification, we discuss performances and convenience of the system. Use of video sequences, feedback of position for user, and an update of dictionary data are investigated to improve performances. One-to-many identification is applied to realize a hands-free operation. We have developed a face recognition system based on the discussion and evaluate its performances through simulation and trial operations. Improvements using multiple, samples acquired at plural places are also discussed for future works to achieve walk-through facial recognition.
