Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently CMC (Computer Mediated Communication) has become very familiar to us through the Internet due to advances in information processing technology. However a sense of atmosphere and context is difficult to convey using only abstract characters. In a real daily life situation, we cannot fail but notice the atmosphere. Recently in constructing a communication space, we create a CG of a room/space. In this research, we created "avatars" for each member which utilize a symbolic color code without explaining the meaning to the distant participants. We questioned participants to determine the results. Our finding indicate that participants can respond socially to tacit information presented in the avatar color. This research builds on the interactive model of virtual social interaction, this time using color as an individual trait.
