Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This study investigated influence of social contexts on strategy of nonverbal expression of politeness, which is defined as "adequate behaviors according to social context." A participant with treatment skill played the role of having the interactional partner wait by boss's request, and offering to a partner's baggage, under situations in which the three social contexts are manipulated : social distance(D), power of the partner to the actor, imposition of action on the partner(I). Results of analyzing participant's behaviors indicated that the three social contexts influences similarly on various nonverbal channels. It suggests that influence of the three social factors can be integrated into one variable which determines strategy of nonverbal expressions of politeness.
