Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Using a driving simulator, this study examined the region of a driver's safety cognition in braking with the relationship between the relative velocity and the headway distance. As a result, the following points are identified : The Region of a driver's safety cognition in braking can be presumed with the relative velocity and the headway distance. A driver with the early safety cognition does the leisurely braking, and starts the braking in early timing. A driver with the late safety cognition does the precipitous braking with the braking action of the leading vehicles.
