Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | We have been developing a monitoring system, which is organized with network cameras, an integrated web/mail/database server and web-based clients including high-performance cellular phones. The integrated web/mail/database server has been designed to play intensive roles to obtain images from network cameras, process them, accumulate them into its simple database, receive requests from clients, and perform several kinds of services for monitoring. Almost software of our monitoring system has been written in Java programming language, because of easy and powerful description of GUl and/or network programming. 0ur monitoring system is useful for improving system reliability, maintenance and some kinds of security. With mobile computing devices such as Java-available high-performance cellular phones, users can utilize remote monitoring and controlling anywhere and anytime. We will describe the overview of our remote monitoring system including the integrated server, some services from the server and the detail of GUl available on the browser and cellular phone as its client which can provide user communication facility between server and clients. |
