Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Sign language is a natural language like spoken language which can be understood in real-time. Although there are many studies about speech dialogue, there are few studies about dialogue by sign language. Therefore, we analyzed spontaneous dialogue by sign language especially from the viewpoint of turn-taking referring the analysis method of speech dialogue. First, spontaneous dialogues by sign language were recorded. Second, we defined the notion of pauses in sign language. Third, we analyzed the turn-taking of sign language using the pauses as their boundaries. As results, similarity between spoken dialogue and sign dialogue were observed and some peculiar phenomena in sign language were also observed.
