Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This report assesses application-level QoS of audio-video transmission in a wireless LAN with the IEEE 802.11e MAC. By simulation, we first assess the performance of the EDCA in the case where audio-video streams are transmitted on both uplink and downlink, and Web data are transferred on the downlink. Numerical results show that the use of both EDCA and TXOP-bursting can achieve excellent quality of audio-video transmission. We then study the effects of media synchronization control on the application-level QoS. As a result. we find that the media synchronization control in addition to the TXOP-bursting can improve the application-level QoS of audio-video transmission.
