Abstract(in English) | In the bilateral teleoperator systems, transferring tactile information from a slave to a human operator is very important in order to improve the presence in the master side. A biomimetic coiled tactile sensor involved in the non-uniform elastic skin has been developed. This novel sensor can measure a friction coefficient just after the contact and an incipient local slip. The human operator can adequately regulate the coordination between the grip force and the vertical lifting force by utilizing the frictional information from the tactile display. Furthermore, we show a touch enhancing tool that operates not only as a disturbance filter, but also, supposedly, as a magnifier of surface undulation. This tool, which we named a "TouchLens, " is composed of a sheet and numerous pins regularly arranged on one side of the sheet, having no electronic or mechatronic components. |
