Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Our target is a teleconferencing system that allows a busy user to grasp the key points in live and recorded teleconferences. To develop this system, we believe that information beyond the physical attributes of speech such as utterance characteristics must be collected and processed. Our first step, reported here, is to construct a teleconference corpus that contains labels indicating the participants' feelings. A preliminary analysis of the correlation of labeled topic boundaries and the change in participants' utterances shows the possibility of recognizing a conversation's structure from changes in the amounts of participant utterances.
