Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this report, we propose an object tracking method using the 2D-3D line correspondences between straight edges in the image and 3D-wireframe model of tracked objects (targets) and the motion of feature points between the frames. In our method, tracking system tracks the straight edge segments corresponding to 3D model segments and keeps 2D-3D correspondences between the frames. Therefore, the system can continue object tracking using preserved 2D-3D correspondences even the frames on which new 2D-3D correspondences are not obtained. To evaluate our method, we have checked our system using motion image sequences of two targets taken by two cameras of different qualities. Our system can track the targets on those four sequences. From the tracking results, we confirmed our tracking system can track with enough accuracy for various applications even when using rough 3D model in real time.
