Abstract(in English) | We study a short-cavity DBR laser to realize a fast wavelength tunable source as a key componet for the next generation photonic networks. We first propose an active DBR mirror as a way of compensating for optical loss during tuning operations and we showed that the new structure provides loss compensation while maintaining efficiency of tuning.
