Abstract(in English) | An all-optical wavelength converter is one of the key devices for photonic networks. The wavelength converter using semiconductor optical amplifier is a promising candidate, because it has the characteristics of re-shaping waveforms, and integration of other semiconductor components. The wavelength converter monolithically integrated with semiconductor optical amplifier, Mach-Zehnder interferometer and DFB light source for optically assisted pumping is presented. Those key elements are connected with tilted butt joint waveguides. The integrated chip operates at high SOA injection current above 600mA and is demonstrated under 10 Gbit/s operation. |
