Abstract(in English) | We propose a photonic crystal based optical group delay device by combination of chirped structure and a directional coupler. The directional coupler is composed of two waveguides which have upward and downward photonic band-edges. We found in the FDTD simulation that the device achieves an ultralow group velocity near the band-edge with compensating dispersion almost perfectly against an ultrashort pulse. |
