Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | A new feasible design of multifiber WDM ring networks using two identical sets of wavelengths for opposite directions on a single fiber is described. A numerical analysis shows that optical power penalty due to Rayleigh backscattering can be reduced less than 1 dB with the help of simple optical edge filters. These results make multifiber WDM networks more attractive for high-capacity WDM networks for metro areas. |
