Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Breaking arc between combination electrodes with Copper and Nickel is measured with the purpose of examining what kind of influence the anode and the cathode electrode exert on arc discharge. Spectral intensity of breaking arc was measured to research arc temperature and the picture of the surface of contacts after the experiment was taken to observe contact erosion. The arc light is composed of both spectra of cathode and anode material. Spectrum intensity of cathode dominates it in comparison with that of anode. Arc temperature is the value that is characteristic of the electrode metal and depends on the cathode material. After arc extinction, contact surface was damaged and cathode erosion was larger than anode one.
