Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Electric guitars are most often made with solid bodies since they depend upon electromagnetic pickups and amplifiers to produce the sound. Their bodies are not dependent upon the resonance of hollow bodies in theory, but bodies vibrate in practice, and they contribute to the total sound. In this paper, some fundamental acoustical characteristics of electric guitars are discussed by comparing theory and practice. From the results, it can be found that the vibration of the body, neck, and some other parts influence in the range of higher frequency, and the point of the string picked influence on the frequency characteristics.
