Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we present a novel method to estimate several natural quadric (sphere, cylinder, and cone) and plane surface parameters from a range image. First, model surface parameters are estimated using Hough transform technique. Based on these estimated parameters, more reliable parameters are calculated using the EM algorithm. We implemented this method and applied to actual range data.
