Abstract(in English) This paper reports on an overview of International Workshop on Spoken Language Translation (IWSLT2004) held at ATR this autumn. This workshop mainly focused on an evaluation campaign of multilingual (Chinese-to-English, and Japanese-to-English) spoken language translation technologies. The summary of the open evaluation campaign and issues of evaluation techniques of machine translation systems are described.
