Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It is known that instructing not only movement trajectory but also optimal muscle activity is effective in the teaching of human arm movements. Recent studies show that it is effective to teach optimal muscle contraction using functional electrical stimulation (FES). It is however difficult to apply this method to fast movements due to the delay of muscle contraction for percutaneous electrical stimulation. Here it is proposed to use FES as cutaneous perception in the teaching of human arm movements. In addition, it is proposed to teach torque profile that achieves a desired movement. Psychophysical experiments are carried out to investigate the effectivity of proposed teaching methods. These experimental results suggest the effectivity of teaching movement using FES as cutaneous perception. In addition, the effectivety of teaching the desired torque profile is also suggested by these experimental results.
