Abstract(in English) This paper compares throughput performance between single-carrier DS-CDMA and OFDM radio access in uplink broadband channel focusing on wider bandwidth than 5 MHz for multi-cell environments. This paper assumes uplink with one-cell frequency reuse in Evolved UTRA and UTRAN, in which requirements such as high spectrum efficiency and short delay etc. are anticipated. Single-carrier DS-CDMA can reduce transmission back-off on the condition of power amplifier with the same performance, since peak-to-average power ratio of single-carrier DS-CDMA is smaller by approximately 4.5 dB than that of OFDM. Simulation results clarifies the location probability for achieving the throughput of 1 and 5 Mbps using single-carrier DS-CDMA can be increased by approximately 9-14 % and 2-5 %, respectively, compared to OFDM with 10-MHz channel bandwidth for the cell-to-cell distance of 3, 9, 17 km.
