Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper we propose two kinds of adaptive transmission rate DAPSK-COFDM transmission system for ultra-high speed and high quality mobile communications. For estimating the transmission quality, the proposed systems utilize a simple but precise estimating scheme which uses the metric information produced in Viterbi decoding. Based on the estimating scheme, the proposed systems adaptively adjust the transmission rate respectively by changing the modulation scheme of each subcarrier of OFDM signal and by changing the number of frequency diversity branches. Computer simulations have confirmed that compared with the fixed transmission rate systems, the proposed systems can achieve high transmission quality and high throughput simultaneously in severe mobile radio channels
