Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recent years have witnessed remarkable progress of wireless LANs for high-speed transmissions. Moreover, mobile phones have become very popular. Thus, it would be desirable to take advantage of the benefits of both mobile phone and wireless LAN services. This necessitates the development of mobile phone terminals that incorporate wireless LAN capabilities. However, to keep both systems of these mobile/wireless LAN-shared terminals active in standby mode would consume a lot of power. This paper proposes a method to reduce the power consumption of mobile/wireless LAN-shared terminals.
