Abstract(in English) | IMT-2000, which is the third generation wireless communication system, provides wide-band packet services and allows users to make use of various internet services compared to the second generation mobile network system. In the future, IMT-2000 will be expanded to HSDPA and it will be expected to provide broadband services as in wired network system. On the other hand, besides the introduction of rich contents and various services, traffic relatively increases with cheap charge service deployment. This brings to the theme of transmitting packet data more efficiently towards the expansion of IMT-2000 services. In this paper, we focused on the packet data compression algorithm, which is one of the methods to transmit packet data efficiently as to improve the user's performance. The algorithm we focused on had been standardized by RFC and it has been generally spread widely in the internet and we summarized the influences of applying the algorithm on the IMT-2000 mobile packet network resulting from the channel characteristics. Also, through the simulation of data compression process using IMT-2000 packet network simulator, we measured the effects and clarified the influences quantitatively when applying each compression algorithm to mobile network and concluded this paper with the application method of the compression system and the issues on mobile network. |
