Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In recent years, aiming at enhancement of safety in road traffic and traffic congestion reduction, research and development of ITS have been conducted in many countries of the world. Now, it is considered that inter-vehicle communication is going to be used not only as safe driving support but also as some of entertainment tools. Moreover, the demand of both data and voice communications over IP network is increasing with development of VoIP. Many of current inter-vehicle communication in ITS are through base stations. Therefore, taking into account the trend of ITS and communication infrastructure, we propose inter-vehicle voice communication system using multiple hops. In the proposed system, using existing wireless network and wireless IP terminals, voice communication which realizes high-quality sound and low-cost system can be performed. Sharing voice among some groups with this system produces a sense of presence as if the drivers in some vehicles were in the same room together. In this research, we evaluated the proposed system through simulations and considered the problems in the system realization. As a result, it is proved that this proposed system can be expected as a new inter-vehicle communication.
