Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper compares the achievable packet error rate (PER) performance between Irregular Low-Density Parity-Check (LDPC) code and Turbo code for Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) packet wireless access in a multipath fading channel, taking into consideration the influence of data modulation scheme, coding rate and the number of information bits per channel coding block. Simulation results show that, compared to Turbo code, although irregular LDPC code can improve the achievable average PER performance for efficient modulation and channel coding scheme combination using 16QAM data modulation and coding rate of 3/4, its improvement in the required average received signal energy per symbol-to-noise power spectrum density ratio (E_S/N_0) at achieving average PER=10^<-2> is only approximately 0.3 dB in ITU Pedestrian-B/Vehicular-A channel model with fading maximum Doppler frequency, f_D=5.55-389 Hz and number of information bits per channel coding block, N=1244-29856 bits.
