Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we focus on multicarrier CDMA systems, which are known as one of the candidates of the communication method in broadband mobile communication systems, and propose a performance improvement method at the edge of the cells by using a site diversity technique. In the site diversity system, the plural base stations simultaneously transmit the same data and these signals are separated and combined at the mobile terminal. This technique can improve the performance of the terminals at the cell edge. In original site diversity technique, the received signals are separated and combined using spreading code characteristics. However, the inter-cell-interference occurs due to the independent spreading codes are used among cells and the performance may degrade. Therefore, in the proposed system, in order to solve this problem, we apply space time block code (STBC) between plural base stations and the scrambling code hierarchically assigns to each cell according to the STBC code patterns for reducing the influence of the signals from other base stations.
