Abstract(in English) | This paper investigates the received signal-to-interference plus noise power ratio (SINR) and achievable throughput performance of a shared packet data channel based on field experiments using the implemented VSF (Variable Spreading Factor)-Spread OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) transceiver in a 100-MHz bandwidth forward link considering the other-sector interference in real multipath fading channels. Field experiments are conducted in which a base station (BS) employs a three-cell configuration in the same cell site with the antenna height of 50 m and a van equipped with a mobile station (MS) is driven at the average speed of 30 km/h along the measurement courses that are approximately 1000 m away at maximum from the BS, where most of the locations along the courses are under non-line-of-sight conditions. Field experimental results show that the transmission beam width, BW_I, should be less than approximately 90 degrees, which has been already employed in current 3G systems, so that the reduction in the location probability of the throughput compared to that without inter-cell interference is suppressed to a low level such as approximately 5% even when 16QAM modulation is applied. We also show that the throughput values of 60.9, 91.4, 121.8, and 182.7 Mbps are achieved at the location probabilities of approximately 98, 92, 88, and 42%, respectively, for BW_I=90 degrees in the measurement course with the distance from the BS of 200-1000m when the transmission power of the BS is 10 W. |
