Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In measuring the radiation efficiency of the monopole using the improved Wheeler method, some dips of the measured efficiency are observed at discrete frequencies. In this report, the dips can be removed by limiting the moving range of sliding shorts in the waveguide so that a continous measurement of the efficiency can be achieved for the wide frequency range, which is the same as the recommanded frequency range of the waveguide. If both sliding shorts at the ends of the waveguide are possible to be moved, the dips occur at the resonant frequencies of the cavity which is formed by the wavegude and two shorts. The moving range of the sliding shorts is discussed to remove the dips from the efficiency. And, if one of the sliding shorts is fixed and the other is possible to be moved, the dips of the efficiency occur at the frequency of the resonance between the monopole and the fixed short and can be removed by locating the fixed short in the limited range.
