Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The sliding measurement for local fractal dimension and its applications have been already proposed in the previous papers. The method uses the local fractal dimension as an index to indicate the characteristics or manners of the fluctuation in a given time series. In this paper, the change in seawater temperature around Izu peninsula can be selected as examples. LFD analysis and the moving average method have been applied to the difference time series between the seawater temperatures. Based on the analytical results, the seasonal boundary estimation method has been proposed by actively using the "reversion phenomenon" observed in seawater temperatures in shallow layer at the turn of the season. We consider that this can fulfill the role as a "highly sensitive sensor in a weather system", for although fluctuations in the difference time series between seawater temperatures at each depth itself were sensitive, changes in the moving average of this time series were observed to be robust.
