Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, it has been shown that a microcantilever-tip-sample system in atomic force microscopy possibly exhibits a chaotic motion due to the nonlinear tip-sample interaction force. In this report, we propose to employ the time delayed feedback control method (Pyragas method) to eliminate the chaotic vibration from the microcantilever-tip-sample system. The possibility of improvement in the sensing process is numerically discussed with relevance to the transient response of the controlled microcantilever-tip-sample system.
