Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Use of a single sideband (SSB) modulation signal engenders high bandwidth efficiency because the SSB signal occupies half of the channel bandwidth of intensity modulation. Tolerance to SPM is evaluated in a dispersion-compensated transmission system using carrier-suppressed optical single side-band modulation, which is employed optical SSB modulators based on LiNbO3 modulators. Waveform degradation is dominated by the peak power of a Hilbert-transformed signal. RZ format is preferred to NRZ for optical SSB transmission. The effect of the order of FIR Hilbert transformers is also discussed for SPM tolerance. |
