Development of the LAN Switch Enclosure

Abstract(in English) When an IP network for power systems is introduced in the future, it is necessary to install a general-purpose LAN switch in the substation of the severe environment from the viewpoint of temperature, humidity and electromagnetism. So, we have developed the enclosure for the LAN switch manufactured by Cisco Systems K.K., which has the switching function indispensable to the network design and may be applied as a core switch installed in the substation. We have evaluated the environmental performance of this enclosure based on the standard for telecommunication for power systems of Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. and the international standard about emission and immunity. As a result, we have evaluated that this enclosure conforms to the standard and the environmental performance is improved bythisenclosure.
