Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The speed of home network will be over 1Gbps in a near future because of the rapid improvement of IT technology. The main media for home network now are UTP cables and wireless, but they are difficult to be used in an over-Gigabit network. Thus, we proposed a optical network with plastic optical fiber (POP). We are studying on how to realize a high-speed POP by decreasing its propagation mode dispersion and we have got a fact that there are some propagation modes difficult to convert and if we can collimate these modes then we can decrease the mode dispersion.
