Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The PD-EAM optical gate monolithically integrating a uni-traveling-carrier photodiode (UTC-PD) and a traveling-wave electroabsorption modulator (TW-EAM), where the PD drives the EAM directly, is advantageous to a compact, stable and high-speed operation. In this paper, we successfully demonstrated 100-Gbit/s error-free wavelength conversions by using the PD-EAM. Wavelength range of25 nm (1545-1570 nm) for input data signals and 20 nm (1545-1565 nm) for output data signals were achieved with power penalties of less than 2.1 dB and their fluctuation below 0.6 dB.
