Abstract(in English) | To construct further cost-effective optical transmission systems for terrestrial application, we have studied the extension of span length of the optically repeatered WDM transmission system. We have investigated the adoption of remotely pumped optical amplification technology in order to minimize the excess OSNR degradation due to the large span loss. In this report, we show the experimental results about the basic evaluations using several types of transmission fibers, and two experimental demonstrations of large capacity long distance WDM transmission using long SMF spans enforced by RPOA. |
