Abstract(in English) We propose a novel and simple optical monitoring technique using optical time domain level monitoring. The method is based on pulse waveform detection in a time domain using EA modulator-base optical gate. Dispersion-induced waveform changes are successfully monitored as a variation of both pulse height and width. By applying the technique, we achieve the precise dispersion monitoring and dynamic compensation in 42.7 Gb/s-CS-RZ long-haul system.
