Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Dithering method have been widely used for representing natural images to bi-level devices. In this paper, we propose a data compression method for dithered images based on the concept of Schalkwijk code. Schalkwijk code is known as an efficient entropy code for the binary sequence. In Schalkwijk code, a binary sequence is expressed by the prefix code and the pattern code. Receivers are able to understand the outline of the image contents by transmitting prefix code first. Our proposed scheme is applied for the dithered image processed by the minimized average error method. |
