Synthesis and evaluation of Eu doped red-emitting phosphors for Near UV excitation

Abstract(in English) the SrS : Eu phosphors with excitation region in near UV and luminescence peak at 610nm are well known. However, it is not enough for red-emitting phosphors, and more long wavelength luminescence should be obtained. Then, for mixed cristal of (Ba_XSr_<1-X>)S : Eu for this purpose were synthesized. The composition ratio of components was changed by changing of x value. The possibility to obtain red shift of luminescence maximum from 607nm to 688nm according to changing the value of x was checked. Moreover, the optimum of color purity and luminosity on the sample with x=0.25 and fired at 1100℃ in sulfur for 3 hours was obtained. The dependence of luminescence intensity of investigated phosphors from contain of sulfate compound generated during firing in sulfur was extablished.
